Issue 347: The IMO workshop, hosted by the Moffitt Cancer Center, is designed to motivate and facilitate hands-on modeling experience to drive real-world clinical impact. This year's focus - the 13 th edition - will be the development of innovative future generation cancer treatments - a treatment revolution. During the workshop participants are divided into multiple teams combining clinical, experimental and theoretical members, who will integrate their energies to address questions such as: (i)Exploiting the potential role of treatment breaks (ii) Integrating microenvironment modulating therapies (iii) Using sparse and discrete data to facilitate treatment decisions (iv) How best to exploit immunotherapy in combination with other drugs, or (v) How can we model disease when quantifiable burden exists. The teams get 4.5 days to to come up with a model, solve it and give a presentation - with a chance to win a $50K pilot grant (generously funded by Moffitt Cancer Center) to the leaders of the winning team.
